Thaer Alafghani
Thaer completed his B.Sc. in Biomedical Engineering at the Jordan University of Science and Technology (JUST) in Jordan, where he worked on Biosensing applications. He later obtained his M.Sc. in Microsystems Engineering from Masdar Institute of science and technology of Khalifa University in assistance with Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) in the UAE where he mainly worked in Analog circuit design developing a CMOS IC for skin-cancer detection. Following his M.Sc. degree, he joined the integrated Bioelectronics laboratory in New York University’s global campus in Abu Dhabi (NYUAD) as a research assistant where he worked on developing implantable Glucose and ion-sensing platforms. Thaer is currently a Ph.D. student in the Integrated Medical Electronics Lab (IMedE) and his research focuses on developing implantable Bioelectronics for Neural applications such as Electrocortical sensing and stimulation of the brain.
